Blackbird Technologies, a company dedicated to helping independent inventors and small companies realize value from their patents, has settled a patent infringement lawsuit with Garmin concerning fitness trackers.
BOSTON (PRWEB) December 19, 2017
Blackbird Technologies settled a patent infringement case with Garmin.
In August 2016, Blackbird Technologies filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Garmin International, Inc. and Garmin USA, Inc. on U.S. Patent No. 6,434,212 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware (16-cv-689). The patented technology relates to fitness trackers with more accurate distance measurements. Last month, the parties settled the case.
Wendy Verlander, President and CEO of Blackbird Technologies, stated, “Long before fitness trackers developed into the ubiquitous devices they are today, the inventor of this patent made important contributions to the field by developing a simple, but more accurate, fitness tracker. We are very pleased that we could help him finally see results for his role in the development of this technology.”
